Nozawa Onsen
Nozawa Onsen, located in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture, is a hot spring and ski resort village of 5000 inhabitants.  Renowned for it's onsen since the Edo period, the village also played a significant role in the history of skiing in Japan.

Happo-one
Happo-one must be one of the most well-known and popular ski resorts in Japan.  The resort was the host for many of the main events of the Nagano Winter Olympics in 1998 and is also host to many other international events.

Hakuba Iwatake Resort
Iwatake is situated to the north of the famous Happo-one, and comes along with superb panoramic views of the Japan Alps. Check out Iwatake for long runs, moguls, and plenty of wide-open runs to suit the beginner and intermediate skiers alike.

Tsugaike Kogen
Tsugaike Kogen is another of the popular resorts located in the Hakuba village region of Nagano Prefecture.  With it's good combination of easy beginner courses, to it's more difficult advanced courses, to it's heliski course package, Tsugaike has a lot to offer most skiers and snowboarders looking for a fun challenge.

ARAI Snow & Mountain Park
Surrounded by breathtaking scenery of the Northern Alps and cradled against the Sea of Japan, ARAI MOUNTAIN & SNOW PARK is now entering it’s ninth season bigger and better than ever. The abundant fresh sea air here brings some of the biggest snowfalls in the world, which allow us an extended white season through most of May.

Hakuba Cortina Kokusai
Hakuba Cortina Kokusai may be less well-known than some of the huge resorts closeby in the Hakuba valley, but it is known for excellent snow conditions, it's imposing location and other facilities.

Niseko-Hirafu, Hokkaido
Located in snow-blessed Hokkaido, Niseko-Hirafu is regarded as one of Japan's premier powder resorts.  Affected by weather fronts that travel across the sea from the Siberian desert, Niseko's snow quality is world class.

GALA Yuzawa Ski Resort, Yuzawa
GALA Yuzawa.  You may have heard of that name already.  It is well-known as the only resort to have it's own Shinkansen bullet station, but it's also increasingly well-known for it's snowboard park.  Want to know more?

Iwappara Ski Resort, Yuzawa
One of the "big ones" in Yuzawa - and one of the first to welcome boarders - Iwappara continues to be a popular resort for both skiers and boarders, with excellent access.

Joetsu Kokusai Resort, Shiozawa
Just to the north of Yuzawa town is Shiozawa, with Joetsu Kokusai being one of the popular resorts in that town.
